Since our founding, Rethink Food has partnered with over 200 local restaurants and food businesses to provide chef-crafted, nutritious meals to communities in need. Our impact is amplified through three core meal programs: Neighborhood Meals, Rapid Response, and Medically Tailored Meals.

Neighborhood meals

Launched in 2020 during the pandemic, the Neighborhood Meals program partners with local restaurants to prepare or donate meals and support fundraising efforts—helping provide free, nutritious meals to community-based organizations in need.

Rapid Response

Launched in 2023 during the migrant crisis in NYC, the Rapid Response program partners with government and private agencies to fulfill emergency and ongoing meal-making contracts and RFPs, leveraging vetted local restaurants that can operate at the required level of service, standards, and capacity.

Under New York State's Medicaid 1115 Waiver, the Medically Tailored Meals program provides free home-delivered meals crafted by dietitians and chefs to support eligible Medicaid clients' medical and nutritional needs.
