We cater events, fundraisers, dinners, pop-ups, and more, and serve as the food donation partner for events across the city. Through this work, we engage chefs, partners, and our community in meaningful action.

SERVICE is a dinner series presented by Chef Daniel Humm at Rethink Food’s Sustainable Community Kitchen in Greenwich Village. These intimate, all-inclusive dinners—featuring five courses with beverage pairings—raise funds to support our work across the city. Past guests have included Michelin-star chefs like Daniel Humm, Daniel Boulud, Charlie Mitchell, and other top culinary talent.

Annual Rethink Food Gala at Eleven Madison Park

Join us on Wednesday, April 15th at 6 PM for Rethink Food’s annual gala at the iconic Eleven Madison Park. This special evening celebrates our mission to build a more sustainable and equitable food system with friends, family, partners, and supporters.

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at Clemente Bar, followed by Eleven Madison Park’s exclusive three-Michelin-star tasting menu, with plant-based and meat-inclusive options paired with wine.

After dinner, the celebration will continue with dessert, live music, dancing, and even magical performances. Hear from Rethink Food leaders and partners as we reflect on our collective impact and look ahead to the future.

JBF Patron Reception

Culinary Director Ken Baker, a 2024 James Beard Foundation Chef Bootcamp alumnus, joined fellow Bootcamp graduate Chef Geoff Kie (‘23) to host the Climate Week Patron Reception at the historic James Beard House—celebrating chefs driving change through sustainability and community impact.

NYC Wine & Food Festival

At the Food Network NYC Wine & Food Festival, Rethink Food was proud to serve as the official Food Excess Partner — rescuing over 1,625 pounds of food from 50 events and 300+ restaurants. Together, we turned one of the city’s biggest celebrations into real impact for our communities.

8 Year Anniversary with Happier

On October 27, we celebrated eight years of impact with Industry Night—an evening of food, music, and community at Apartment NYC. Guests enjoyed bites from Chef Lana Lagomarsini, cocktails by Meaghen Grace, and music by Akwasi Brenya-Mensa. In partnership with Happier Grocery, Apartment, Rethink Food, and KeyBank, the night brought together hospitality friends and supporters to toast our shared mission.
