Welcome to our sustainable kitchen

At our Sustainable Community Kitchen, we demonstrate what dignified, community-centered food access can look like.

We prepare beautiful, nutritious meals for our neighbors. Our cooks work hand-in-hand with our trucking team, who are on the road six days a week,  picking up food donations from a wide range of partners. Once the meals are prepared, our trucking team heads back on the road, delivering them to community-based organizations that serve their local neighbors free of charge.

In the evening, we transition to an event space and fine-dining restaurant, Service, in the evening to bolster our fundraising efforts.

Our SCK has been busy! Since 2017, we’ve prepared over 1.9 million meals for communities across New York City.

Our trucking team delivers 20,000 weekly meals to a dozen community-based organizations at no cost.

“My role here is to make sure the food gets to the location on time. Also just checking the meals as well and making sure everything is nicely placed and fixed properly and how it's supposed to be. It makes me happy just making everyone else happy, you know.”

EVENTS AT OUR SCK

Celebrate with purpose

Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, our SCK includes a state-of-the-art kitchen and private dining room that is warm and intimate, perfect for community events, celebratory dinners, fundraisers, pop-ups, and more. At its core, our space is about hospitality and inclusivity, where we are able to engage the wider community in our work.

Service: Dine with Us

Our new fine-dining restaurant, Service, is run by former Eleven Madison Park chef Rob Hartman, so you know it’s gonna be somethin’ special. Service seats 20, all at one long table, encouraging mixing and mingling during a six-course tasting menu that celebrates local farms. Our vision for Service is to rethink fine dining, to marry sustainability and gastronomy to make a meaningful impact on our communities.

We’re hosting a series of pop up dinners at Service with some of the city’s best chefs: Charlie Mitchell, Daniel Boulud, Victoria Blamey. Every extra dollar from Service and our pop up dinners goes to making meals for local communities.
